HOW WE SERVE OUR COMMUNITY

The Lord's Kitchen exists to bring hope, share love and change lives by providing critical support services and spiritual encouragement to those bound by food insecurity, displacement and addiction. PROGRAMS

Since its humble beginning, The Lord's Kitchen opened its doors at a second site located at 18th and Standard Avenue, on The Corner of Hope Campus. It sits in one of Louisville's most economically distressed neighborhoods and quickly gained community support and energized the area. The need was so great that we launched Hope Distribution Center, a partnership with Dare to Care to provide groceries to an economically disparaged community. Hope Distribution Center distributes an average of 7,000 to 10,000 pounds of food monthley.
The Lord's Kitchen was founded as an outreach of Evangel World Prayer Center, a multi-cultural church led by Dr. Bob and Margaret Rodgers. The vision of the Rodgers family to reach the hungry birthed and nurtured The Lord's Kitchen from its opening Christmas Day 1988. Located at 2732 South 5th Street, Louisville, Kentucky in the shadows of historic Churchill Downs, The Lord's Kitchen has faithfully fed the needy, 365 days a year, 7 days a week, for over 31 years.
